How tuition works
The school's figures are on our enrollment page. This is how they are set.
What sets tuition
Tuition depends on the ensemble you join and how often you play. An ensemble is one class a week for the session, and a private lesson is 30, 45 or 60 minutes. The school's figures are on our enrollment page, and we go over them with you at your first class.
Ensemble: one class a week for the session
Private lesson: 30, 45 or 60 minutes
Summer camp: by the week
Registration
A yearly registration covers your student file, a first listen with a teacher and your place on the roll. It is due when you sign up, and the amount is on the enrollment page.
Holding a place
Your weekly time is held once your first month is paid. When an ensemble is full, we keep a waitlist by level and email an offer as a place opens.
Billing
Ensembles and lessons are billed monthly, and camp weeks by the week. Autopay is set up when you enroll. A monthly plan covers the whole session, so it is not pay as you go.
Two students in a family
A family with two students can ask for lessons back to back, so one trip covers both. We set the times with you at sign-up.
Withdrawing
We ask for a month's written notice before you leave. A session in progress is paid through the notice month.
Missed classes and make-ups
A private lesson missed with a day's notice is made up within the session. Ensemble classes are not made up, because the band plays as one, but your teacher sends the week's part so you can catch up.
Uniforms, costumes and other costs
The pans in the room are the school's, so there is no instrument to buy. A set to practice on at home is a rental, and it is an extra: ask your teacher before you rent or buy. Other extras are music books and the parade-day sash, each listed on the enrollment page.
